RAM charts future path with strategic vision for 2025–2030

MUSCAT: The Board of Trustees of the Royal Academy of Management (RAM) recently convened its fourth meeting, chaired by Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of the Royal Court, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, with the full attendance of board members.

Sayyid Khalid welcomed the board members and commended the efforts of the working teams and those overseeing the implementation of RAM’s programmes, initiatives, and studies. He reaffirmed the Academy’s role as a pioneering institution in enhancing administrative and leadership performance, inspired by the vision of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, who prioritises the development of national competencies.

The meeting reviewed RAM’s strategic direction since its establishment in 2022, reinforcing its status as a hub for executive learning, leadership development, and knowledge foresight. With its focus on innovation and global partnerships, RAM continues to equip national leaders with contemporary knowledge and skills to support Oman Vision 2040.

The Board discussed key achievements in 2024, highlighting RAM’s integrated approach to developing impactful leadership communities while fostering a mindset rooted in national identity and values. Notable accomplishments included structured programmes, studies, and dialogues aimed at enriching national competencies through a systematic learning philosophy based on localised global best practices. Studies focused on critical areas such as the role of technology in government transformation and public–private sector partnerships.

With over 1,209 alumni, RAM has significantly contributed to the professional growth of leaders across diverse sectors. Its executive ecosystem fosters engagement, collaboration, and peer learning through discussion forums and knowledge-sharing platforms.

The Board also lauded RAM’s leadership in advancing Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) collaboration, exemplified by the ‘Future of Work in Government Programme for GCC Countries,’ which brought together 65 participants, including representatives from all six GCC member states and the GCC General Secretariat. The programme was deemed a success in achieving its objectives.

Discussions also focused on RAM’s strategic roadmap for 2025–2030, which centres on building a sustainable local ecosystem by integrating small and emerging learning enterprises in Oman with international partners for knowledge exchange. They also eliminate barriers among stakeholders to foster seamless collaboration within leadership communities and developing innovative, locally tailored solutions while promoting a culture of experimentation and entrepreneurship to align with national goals and global trends.

The Board also approved RAM’s 2025 Annual Plan, encompassing new initiatives, projects, and studies designed to advance Oman’s leadership capabilities through strategic international collaborations.

The meeting was attended by board members namely Dr Said bin Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of Economy, Dr Mahad bin Said Baowain, Minister of Labour, Sheikh Waleed bin Khamis Al Hashar, CEO of Bank Muscat, Khawla bint Hamoud Al Harthy, CEO of Injaz Oman, and Dr Hatim bin Bakhit Al Shanfari, Faculty Member at Sultan Qaboos University.
