First charter flight arrives from Slovak Republic

Muscat: The Muscat International Airport received the first charter flight, as part of weekly services from the Slovak Republic, with 182 passengers on board.

In cooperation with the Satur Travel agency in Slovakia, this operation will continue during the tourist season in the coming years as part of the efforts to activate some other areas to receive this type of trip, similar to Dhofar Governorate.

The Ministry is planning to operate charter flights to Suhar and Duqm during peak tourist seasons.

During the 2023/2024 season, more than 74,000 passengers arrived via charter flights, an increase of 15 percent compared to the previous year, generating revenues of more

than RO23 million.

MHT is targeting charter flights from Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Armenia, Spain, and Russia.

Revenues are generated from accommodation, transportation, and tourist excursions, excluding airport-related revenues like landing fees.
