AL AWABI: The Saturday Market officially opened in Al Awabi, Al Batinah South Governorate, under the supervision of the Wali of Al Awabi's Office and the Municipality Department. The market aims to empower productive families, small and medium enterprises and local farmers by providing a platform to showcase and sell their goods.

Dr Hamoud bin Ali al Marshoudi, Wali of Al Awabi, emphasised that the market will serve as an organised outlet for local products, offering a unified space for residents and visitors alike to purchase fresh, locally-produced goods.

On its inaugural day, the market saw an impressive turnout of productive families, farmers and small business owners displaying a variety of local agricultural products, including dates, vegetables, oils, Omani sweets and handmade goods such as clothes, perfumes and other home-based projects.

Looking ahead, Dr Al Marshoudi stated that the success of the market will be evaluated, with improvements being considered to further establish the market as an economic hub and attract tourists from outside the region. This initiative marks an important step in fostering local commerce and supporting the community's growth. — ONA
