Key wins for Bahla, Oman Club and Al Nahda

 
Muscat: Bahla Club achieved an important 3-0 win against Sur in the 12th round match of the Omantel League at Sur Sports Complex on Wednesday.

The first half was of average intensity, with both teams exchanging attempts. In the 12th minute, Sur had a dangerous chance through a shot by Ayman Ibrahim, but Bahla goalkeeper Salah al Hanzali made a great save. Bahla responded with the opening goal in the 27th minute by Abdul Salam al Shakili, who went on to add a second goal in the 42nd minute. The first half ended with Bahla leading 2-0.

In the second half, Bahla extended their lead with a third goal, also scored by Abdul Salam al Shakili, from a penalty kick in the 47th minute. Despite Sur’s efforts to narrow the deficit, Bahla maintained control to secure a 3-0 victory.

With this win, Bahla raised their tally to 18 points, placing them in fourth, closing in on Oman Club, who are third with 21 points. Meanwhile, Sur remain in the relegation zone, sitting in 11th place with 8 points.

At Sohar Sports Complex, Oman Club edged Saham 1-0.

After a goalless first half with no significant chances, the performance improved in the second half. Daniel scored the match's only goal in the 68th minute after receiving a precise cross from the left flank. Despite Saham’s attempts to equalise, Oman’s defence and goalkeeper Abdulaziz al Hassani stood firm to preserve the result.

This victory brought Oman Club’s points tally to 24, keeping them in third place, while Saham remained in sixth with 14 points.

AL NAHDA BLANK AL NASR

Al Nahda earned a well deserved 2-0 win against Al Nasr in a match held at the Saada Sports Complex on Thursday.

Al Nahda started with an attacking approach, which paid off with the first goal in the 31st minute scored by their professional player Al Hajji Malik. Al Nasr, meanwhile, relied on counterattacks but failed to capitalise.

In the second half, Al Nahda doubled their lead with a brilliant goal by Osama Omar in the 56th minute, a powerful strike from outside the penalty area. Despite Al Nasr's efforts to reduce the deficit, Al Nahda goalkeeper Ibrahim al Mukhaini, delivered an outstanding performance, blocking all attempts to score.

With this win, Al Nahda climbed to 30 points, taking second place, just one point behind leaders Seeb. On the other hand, Al Nasr remain in seventh place with 14 points.

At Rustaq Sports Complex, Rustaq and Sohar shared points in a 1-1 draw.

The first half saw both teams exchanging chances but failed to find the back of the net, ending in a goalless draw despite Rustaq’s efforts to achieve a positive result.

In the second half, Sohar took the lead in the 51st minute with a penalty converted by Mohsin Johar after a foul inside the box. Rustaq pushed to avoid another defeat, and their efforts paid off in the 78th minute when Yousuf al Maamari scored the equaliser, also from the penalty spot, awarded for a handball by a Sohar defender.

Both teams had chances to snatch a win, but the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

With this result, Rustaq’s struggles continue as they remain at the bottom of the table with 7 points, while Sohar moved to 10th place with 10 points.
