MUSCAT, JAN 22

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) has announced the availability of new licences for Sanad Service Centres as part of its efforts to improve service accessibility and create economic opportunities in the Sultanate of Oman. The initiative aims to address the growing demand for government and business-related services while generating employment for Omanis in key governorates. Applications for these licences are open from January 22 to February 4, 2025, and interested individuals can apply by scanning the provided QR code or visiting their nearest Sanad Service Centre.

Sanad Service Centres play a vital role in providing a range of essential services to communities, including government transactions and private sector facilitation. The decision to expand these centres follows a detailed study that evaluated population density and economic activity in various regions. The Ministry has identified specific governorates that require additional centres to meet demand and enhance service delivery.

To ensure fairness and eligibility, strict criteria have been established for applicants. Only Omani nationals aged between 18 and 50 years are eligible to apply, and they must reside in the governorate where the centre will be established. Applicants are required to hold at least a general education diploma or equivalent and must possess three years of experience in IT or business management.

Furthermore, applicants should not be employed in the government or private sector, nor should they own or manage any other commercial activity. Priority will be given to those who have been registered on the Ministry’s e-portal for at least four months. Individuals who applied in the last two years but were not selected may reapply without resubmitting their documents.

The Ministry has allocated the new licences across several governorates to address local needs. These include one licence in Musandam (Wilayat Khasab), one in Dhofar (Wilayat Salalah), two in Al-Wusta (Wilayats Al-Jazer and Haima), two in Al-Dakhiliyah (Wilayats Bahla and Jabrin), one in Al-Buraimi (Wilayat Al-Buraimi), one in North Al-Batinah (Wilayat Sohar), and one in South Al-Batinah (Wilayat Barka). Successful applicants must operate their centres at the designated locations, as centres cannot be relocated.

The Ministry has emphasised that all applications will undergo a thorough review to ensure compliance with the outlined conditions. Applications submitted after the deadline or those failing to meet the criteria will not be considered.

This initiative highlights the government’s commitment to improving public services, supporting economic growth, and empowering Omani citizens by providing meaningful employment opportunities. For further information or to apply, interested individuals are encouraged to scan the QR code or visit the nearest Sanad Service Centre.
