Oman, Singapore release commemorative stamp

 


The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Singapore launched a commemorative stamp to mark the 40th anniversary of establishing bilateral diplomatic relations and exchanged the MoU’s signed by the visiting high-level ministerial delegation with Oman in various fields of interest.

The Singaporean team headed by K Shanmugam, Minister for Home Affairs and Law, and Dr Mohamad Maliki Osman, Second Minister for Foreign Affairs of Singapore was welcomed by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister.

Design for the joint stamp was carried out in collaboration between Oman Post and SingPost to commemorate 40 years of diplomatic relations. The stamp, the first day cover and post cards will be issued on 21 February, on the day of the 40 years after diplomatic relations were established. Images depict key landmark projects such as Jewel of Muscat, Muscat Street and Sultan Haitham bin Tarik Orchid.

Both Oman and Singapore valued the central role of partnerships between the public and private sectors in achieving sustainable development goals. They also expressed their keenness on cultural communication as a method of boosting friendly relations, discovering more opportunities and implementing joint cooperation programmes to serve the two countries’ common goals.

The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Singapore stressed the importance of continuing boosting bilateral relations through numerous strategic initiatives that reflect the two countries’ commitment for partnership and cooperation.
