New health complex opens in South Al Maabela

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Health (MoH) on Monday celebrated the official opening of Al Salam Health Complex in the South Al Maabela district in the Wilayat of Al Seeb in the Muscat Governorate, under the auspices of Engineer Badr bin Salim al Maamari, Secretary-General of the Tender Board.
The health complex occupies an area of 15,000 square metres with a built-up area of 1,309 square metres. The total cost amounted to RO 650,000 and the construction work was completed in 14 months.
The health complex comprises specialised primary healthcare clinics including blood pressure, diabetes, asthma, sterilisation, pregnancy care, family planning as well as secondary care clinics in behavioural medicine and specialised clinics in adult psychiatry, child psychiatry, hyperactivity and attention deficit, neuropsychiatry, psychologists clinics. Other facilities include a laboratory, a pharmacy, among others. The health complex has 19 beds in the departments of men, women, childbirth, postpartum and observation.
Delivering a speech at the opening ceremony, Dr Samira bint Mousa al Maimaniyah, Acting Director-General of Health Services in Muscat Governorate, stressed that the health care sector in the Sultanate of Oman is witnessing rapid developments, noting that the opening of the Al Salam Health Complex constitutes a qualitative step in this regard and confirms the government’s commitment to providing world-class health services that meet the needs of citizens and residents.
She added that the opening of the health complex is a step forward in achieving the goals of Oman Vision 2040, which targets to build a sustainable health system that enhances the quality of life and keeps pace with global developments in the field of health care, noting that the role of the complex is not limited to providing treatment services, but rather contributes to enhancing preventive and awareness aspects and ensuring a safe and sustainable health environment. She stated that the new health complex aims to complement the health care system in Muscat Governorate to provide integrated medical services to patients through specialised clinics in primary car — ONA
