The Muscat Nights events at Al Amerat Park in the Muscat Governorate have drawn a remarkable turnout, captivating visitors from within and beyond Oman. Enthusiasts flocked to experience the vibrant array of entertainment, artistic, and cultural programmes designed to appeal to audiences of all ages.

Eng Yasser bin Salem Al Amri, a member of the main committee of Muscat Nights and head of the Al Amerat Park events, highlighted the strong interaction and distinguished presence of attendees from diverse segments of society, emphasising the variety of events tailored to meet the interests of all age groups.

He revealed that since the launch of the events on December 23, Al Amerat Park has welcomed over 165,000 visitors up to January 18. Among the standout attractions is the ‘Heritage Village,’ a vibrant showcase of authentic Omani culture, which remains a significant draw for visitors. This immersive experience includes traditional arts, games, food, crafts, and industries representing the rich diversity of Oman’s cultural landscape.



In addition to heritage-themed events, the park offers a wide array of attractions, including 'electric games' for families and children, thrilling 'aerial and acrobatic games,' and engaging theatre events by the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority.

Looking ahead, Eng Al Amri noted that the Al Amerat Park Theatre is set to feature more entertaining theatrical performances in days ahead, adding value to the visitor experience. The much-loved ‘Al Amerat Carnival’ continues to delight attendees with its vast assortment of entertainment activities. The ‘Children’s Car Circuit’ stands out as a favourite for young visitors, offering exciting electric car and truck races and remote-controlled shows.

One of the most innovative highlights is the ‘Hybrid Show Experience,’ which combines live performances with cutting-edge digital technologies. This interactive showcase allows visitors to participate through a blend of digital media and virtual reality, proving especially popular with families.

Evenings at Al Amerat Park are made magical by spectacular fireworks displays, which have become a signature feature of Muscat Nights. These colourful pyrotechnic shows captivate audiences with their artistic formations and mesmerizing effects, drawing crowds night after night.

The park also hosts a bustling consumer exhibition, featuring an extensive range of products that add a touch of shopping excitement to the festive atmosphere.



Adding to the cultural richness of the event is the Heritage House, owned by Marhoon bin Khalifa Al Bassami. This exhibit has been a focal point for visitors, showcasing a fascinating collection of heritage artifacts and tools. Among the highlights is the ‘Harab,’ a 3,000-year-old artifact that stands as the oldest item on display. The Heritage House also features swords, daggers, Islamic shields, pottery, tin-plated handkerchiefs, and antique rifles such as the ‘Sama’a’ and ‘Abu Fatila,’ which date back over 200 years.

Marhoon shared that the purpose of the display is to introduce generations to Oman’s authentic heritage and its traditional weapons and tools, providing a valuable educational experience for festival-goers.

Muscat Nights spans seven distinct locations across Muscat. In addition to Al Amerat Public Park, activities are hosted at Al Naseem Public Park, Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, Oman Automobile Association, Qurum Natural Park, and various beaches. The event features a blend of cultural, economic, and sports programmes, reflecting the rich culture of of Omani life and enjoying enthusiastic participation from citizens, residents, and international visitors alike. - ONA
