Seeb, Dhofar clash for Oman Super Cup today

All eyes of Omani football fans are on the Rustaq Sports Complex on Tuesday, where the Oman Super Cup final will be held between Seeb Club, the Oman Professional League champions, and Dhofar Club, the winners of His Majesty the Sultan's Cup. The match will take place under the auspices of Eng Masoud bin Said al Hashmi, Governor of Al Batinah South. Seeb Club approaches the match with high ambitions to secure their first title of the season, buoyed by a streak of positive results. The team have played 11 matches without defeat, drawing only once. Coach Nikola Djurovic emphasised during the press conference that the match is a one-off championship open to all possibilities, stressing its importance and the team’s determination to win. Djurovic confirmed that Seeb are fully prepared for the match. The coach added that Seeb are not facing any significant absences, with both Amjad al Harthy and Ahmed al Khamisi available for the final, further strengthening the team for this decisive clash. Seeb player Omar al Maliki acknowledged the difficulty of the match against an experienced and prestigious opponent like Dhofar, emphasising the importance of mental focus and thorough preparation. He highlighted the team’s aim to build on last season’s efforts and secure a new title. Winning the Super Cup is one of the team’s primary goals this season, alongside competing for league and cup titles. Al Maliki concluded by noting that the match will be highly anticipated by fans of both teams, which increases the players’ motivation to deliver their best performance and claim the title. On the other hand, Dhofar Club, currently competing in the First Division, seek to prove their worth and display their strength. Dhofar have played 17 matches this season, winning 10, drawing 4 and losing 3. During the press conference, coach Musabeh Hashel affirmed the team’s readiness for the clash, noting that there are no injuries among the players. He acknowledged the strength of their opponent, which boasts exceptional players and technical stability, but expressed confidence in Dhofar’s ability to secure victory. The coach stressed the importance of small details in deciding such matches, emphasising that individual duels on the pitch would play a crucial role in determining the winner. “This will be a significant encounter, perhaps our best this season.” He also highlighted Dhofar’s prestigious status as a club that consistently competes for championships, reflecting its history and reputation. Meanwhile, player Hamad al Habsi acknowledged the challenges posed by the match, pointing out the balance between the two teams based on their previous encounters. Al Habsi expressed optimism for a positive outcome despite the difficulties, explaining that the team had played only one friendly match due to circumstances, but it was sufficient to prepare for the final. He added, “We have prepared well for the match, focusing on mental aspects to deliver the best performance.”
