SHARJAH: The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth (MoCSY), representing the Sultanate of Oman, participated in the inaugural edition of the ‘Gulf Bridges — Gulf Youth Leadership Programme’, held in Sharjah, UAE. This pioneering programme aims to cultivate a generation of Gulf youth who are conscious, impactful, and equipped to contribute to shaping the future.

Designed for Gulf youth aged 15 to 18, the programme offers a platform to foster leadership skills within a framework that aligns with the GCC countries’ visions. It seeks to empower young leaders to build a sustainable future while reflecting the aspirations of the region’s governments. The initiative is spearheaded by the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators, emphasising the development of well-rounded personalities primed for future leadership roles.

The programme revolves around core themes such as enhancing social skills, digital proficiency, understanding globalisation and promoting sustainability.

Participants also benefit from diverse training courses, field visits, and tours of key developmental projects in Sharjah. These activities are designed to build bridges of collaboration and develop participants' personalities in line with the highest international standards.

The Omani youth delegation to the programme included Awsaf bint Ali al Hosniyah, Sultan bin Abdulaziz al Azizi, Younis bin Juma al Hakmani, Al Waleed bin Khalid al Ali, and Hazza bin Eid al Maqbali.

Organised by the Sharjah Youth and Sharjah Girls Association, the programme was approved during the 37th meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council’s Committee of Ministers of Youth and Sports. The initiative reflects the region's commitment to youth empowerment and highlights Oman’s active participation in Gulf-wide collaborative efforts to inspire and prepare future leaders. — ONA
