KUALA LUMPUR: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, participated in the second edition of the Terengganu International Conference in Malaysia. The event focused on the role of political and religious leaders, civil societies and youth groups in fostering national unity.

Oman’s delegation was led by Ahmed bin Saud al Siyabi, Secretary-General of the Iftaa Office, who delivered a keynote address exploring three key themes. The first emphasised the concept of national unity, the second examined its significance in both national and global contexts, and the third highlighted the responsibilities of religious scholars and political leaders in achieving and sustaining unity.

In his speech, Ahmed al Siyabi noted that the Islamic nation is inherently united through its shared faith and worship, making unity a universal human imperative. He underscored the pivotal role of national cohesion as a foundation for global harmony. Concluding his address, he stressed the necessity of collaboration between political, scientific and religious leaderships, asserting that such alliances are vital to ensuring the unity of both the nation and humanity at large. - ONA
