GCC interior ministers meeting discusses security

DOHA: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Interior, participated in the 41st meeting of the Ministers of Interior of the GCC countries, which was held in Doha, on Wednesday.
The meeting discussed multiple topics to enhance the path of joint GCC security cooperation and effective coordination in security fields to achieve security and stability in the region.
The Sultanate of Oman’s delegation was headed by Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al Busaidy, Minister of Interior.
Shaikh Khalifa bin Hamad al Thani, Minister of Interior of the State of Qatar and president of the current session, expressed his thanks to the Sultanate of Oman, president of the previous session headed by Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al Busaidy, Minister of Interior, for its efforts and the achievements made during its presidency which contributed significantly to enhancing security cooperation among member states.
Jassim bin Mohammed al Budaiwi, GCC Secretary-General, delivered the speech of the GCC Secretariat-General in which he said that since the establishment of the GCC bloc in 1981, the former and current leaders have shown insightful vision and strategic wisdom in realising the importance of strengthening joint security work as a fundamental pillar to ensure the stability and security of the region and in emphasising that joint cooperation between the GCC states is the best way to address risks and challenges to ensure a bright and prosperous future.
During the meeting, the GCC interior ministers expressed their pride in the advanced level of cooperation and joint action between the security agencies of the GCC in all fields.
The GCC interior ministers praised the support, care and attention accorded to the joint security action by the leaders of the GCC states to enhance security cooperation and integration, preserve their security and stability and protect their gains, achievements and the interests of their citizens.
