OTA to organise monthly tournament on Saturday
MUSCAT: The Oman Tennis Association (OTA) is gearing up to organise its second monthly tournament for the current season which will take place at the tennis courts of Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher starting from Saturday.
The tournament will feature competitions for various junior categories, including under-8, under-10, under-12, under-14 and under-18 for both boys and girls. Additionally, there will be singles, doubles and mixed doubles events.
The first tournament, which concluded recently, saw fierce competition across different categories and attracted nearly 100 players of various ages. The association aims to enhance the technical level of young players and provide consistent tournaments to help develop their skills.
The coaching staff of the national teams is also keen on using this tournament to assess the technical performance of players by allowing them to compete in numerous matches. Moreover, the tournament has attracted significant interest from the expatriate communities in Oman with many eager to participate.
