UTAS Mussanah enrolls 764 students for new academic year

UTAS-A held an orientation day for new batch of General Diploma students
MUSSANAH: The University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Al Mussanah (UTAS-A) welcomed a new batch of General Diploma students for the academic year 2024-2025. About 764 students were enrolled for the fall semester in the College of Engineering and Technology, the College of Computing and Information Sciences, and the College of Economics and Business Administration.
Dr Saeed Hamad Al Rubaie, Vice Chancellor, orientation day speech welcomed the students as they embark on their academic journey. 'We are delighted that they have chosen UTAS-A for their studies. We also extend our congratulations to our new colleagues among the staff who have recently joined UTAS. Strive for excellence and success to achieve your goals. Make education your focus and noble aim,” he said while urging them to continue journey towards realising their ambitions.
Dr Nasser Salem Al Bimani, Assistant Vice Chancellor, UTAS-A, delivered a welcome speech, emphasisng the importance of hard work, time management and research skills.
A video presentation was highlighted the university, colleges, its vision, and the key facilities in UTAS-A. The rules and regulations were then explained regarding the General Foundation Programme, placement exams, attendance, and the evaluation systems in the English, computer, and mathematics courses of the GFP.
The students were also introduced to electronic systems and student services and the importance of entrepreneurship and innovation. The orientation week continues with students taking placement exams in English, computer, and mathematics.
