Al Sharqiyah varsity hosts international student exchange programme

SUHAR: Al Sharqiyah University received 27 female students from Misr University for Science & Technology, Tanta University, Obour Institutes, Modern Academy for Science and Engineering/Modern Academy for Engineering and Technology in Egypt, Al Quds University, Al Quds Open University, Palestine Ahliya University, and Modern University College from Palestine.

This comes within the framework of strengthening international cooperation in the student exchange field between the Omani and Arab universities.

The aim of the exchange is for training at the university during the period from July 14 to August 10. The university sent 21 of its students to the Arab Republic of Egypt to Tanta University, the Modern Academy for Engineering and Technology, and Al Obour Institutes, as part of the student training exchange programme supervised by the Arab Council for Training and Student Creativity.

An integrated programme to ensure easy accessibility and accommodation for female students and to provide them with all the necessary needs during the training programme period inorder to ensure maximum benefits.

The university also organised an introductory programme for Egyptian and Palestinian students that included a simplified introduction to the university and an introductory tour of campuses, colleges, and some university facilities, such as the Student Services Centre, the Learning Resources Centre, and other facilities.

A schedule has also been set to supervise the programme's progress through several meetings in which the relevant university units meet to provide all means necessary to support the success of the programme.

Hamid Al Wahaibi, Director of the Planning and Development Department, Al Sharqiyah University, the programme supervisor, said: The training programme contributes to developing the students' abilities, refining their personalities, activating their youth creativity, developing their skills in various fields, providing scientific training in their specialisations, and getting to know different work environments.

Al Wahaibi noted that the programme will include recreational trips to a number of governorates and wilayats, including Muscat, Sur, and Nizwa to learn about the most important historical and cultural monuments and the culture and history of Oman. Al Wahaibi hopes to achieve the university’s desired goals from this programme, which will contribute directly to the formation of international academic and research relations.
