SALALAH: Dhofar Governorate has confirmed that all the sites and venues of Dkareef Dhofar Season 2024 have been readied and developed to host varied activities following a lengthy preoperational period in cooperation with relevant public authorities and private sector institutions.

Dr Ahmed bin Mohsen al Ghassani, Chairman of Dhofar Municipality, said that the preparations for the Khareef season began early by developing many tourist sites.

The Dhofar Dkareef Season 2024 activities began on June 21 and will last for 3 months by gradually launching at several venues.

Al Ghassani explained that the Awqad Park in Salalah was earmarked for children’s activities and includes many international entertainment villages and interactive games. He noted that the UpTown site in Atin Plain in Salalah includes 60 sites designated for entrepreneurs.

Many of the Dhofar Dkareef Season 2024 venues will be launched in the coming days including the ‘Return of the Past’ site in its new look. It simulates the local environments in Dhofar Governorate in particular and the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman in general.

The venue also hosts live shows and arts that embody Omani culture. The Atin Square events will open during the coming period and include various international events, he said.

The chairman of Dhofar Municipality touched upon one of the initiatives being implemented this year namely improving the methods of displaying the products of Omani youth by setting up 500 kiosks for restaurants and cafes. There will also be a mobile laboratory for examining the foods provided at all revenues. — ONA
