Mauritanian president confers medal on Omani ambassador

NOUAKCHOTT: President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, conferred the Medal of Commander of the National Order of Merit on Shaikh Saif bin Hilal bin Ali al Maamari, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Mauritania, on the occasion of the end of his tenure and in appreciation of the efforts he made to advance relations between the two countries in the service of the interests of the two brotherly peoples.

The medal was handed over to the ambassador by Dr Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, during a reception held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nouakchott, on Saturday. — ONA
