Oman Paralympic Committee honors Al Salimi for Asian spot

The Oman Paralympic Committee, represented by Mansour al Toqi, Chairman of the Committee, honored athlete Sami al Salimi for his spot in the Asian Championship.

The national Paralympic team player was able to raise his international ranking to 13th in the world after winning the gold medal in the time trial for the H4 category at the Asian Cycling Championship hosted by Kazakhstan in June.

Mansour al Toqi, said: 'We congratulate athlete Sami al Salimi on the new achievement for Paralympic cycling by winning the Asian Championship gold medal and improving his international ranking to 13th in the world in this sport, which is one of the new sports in which the committee participates in tournaments.'

' He explained that the achievement of raising the player's international ranking is a great incentive for the player to continue his efforts to achieve more achievements in the upcoming Asian Games, which will be hosted by the Sultanate of Oman in February 2026. He stressed that the sport of people with disabilities in the Sultanate of Oman is progressing well and according to plan and has achieved many achievements in several Paralympic games, including weightlifting, boccia, cycling, athletics, and wheelchair basketball,' he ended.
