Drug awareness seminar held in Taqah

TAQAH: An awareness seminar titled ‘The Scourge of Drugs and Psychotropic Substances and Their Impact on Society’ was held at the Omani Women's Association headquarters in the Wilayat of Taqah. Organised by the Directorate General of Social Development in Dhofar Governorate in cooperation with the Health Committee, the seminar aimed to unite community efforts and relevant authorities in combating drug abuse and educating families about its dangers.

Ahmed bin Muslim Tabuk, a health nurse, presented a working paper on the dangers of various types of drugs and the consequences of addiction. He also reviewed the achievements of the National Committee, treatment services, and preventive measures against drug use. The event featured a mobile exhibition by the Royal Oman Police, showcasing models illustrating the dangers and effects of drug addiction.
