Information ministry partakes in Arab media meet in Tunis

TUNIS: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Information, participated in the 111th meeting of the Executive Council of the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU), held in Tunis from June 25 to 26.
The Sultanate of Oman’s delegation is headed by Mohammed bin Said al Balushi, Under-secretary of the Ministry of Information.
The meeting discussed a number of topics related to radio, television, new media, and the Arab Radio and Television Festival slated to be held this year under the slogan ‘Supporting Palestine’.
The meeting reviewed several reports, including the training report where the Sultanate of Oman came in second place in terms of attendance and participation at the Arab level in the field of training and workshops held by the ASBU’s Arab Training Centre and third place in attendance and participation in the training courses conducted by the ASBU’s Media Training Academy.
The meeting touched on the media role undertaken by the ASBU in covering events in Jerusalem, the Gaza Strip and the West Bank in the Palestinian territories through the ASBU’s special correspondents as well as their media coverage in Sudan and Libya. — ONA
