Ominvest and Oman In Focus ink pact to explore Empty Quarter Desert

MUSCAT: Oman International Development and Investment Company SAOG (Ominvest) and Oman In Focus Company have joined forces to create the documentary film 'Empty Quarter Desert,' aimed at showcasing the pristine nature and ecological diversity of the desert. This collaboration underscores Ominvest's commitment to support the ecotourism sector in Oman as well as to support the SMEs exploring the nation's unique tourist and natural treasures.
The agreement was signed by Abdulaziz al Balushi, Group CEO of Ominvest, and Maisa Al Hooti Owner and Founder of Oman in Focus.
'The Empty Quarter Desert' is the latest in a series of documentary films by Oman In Focus, produced in collaboration with wildlife experts and filmmakers both local and international. The film will be broadcast in multiple languages on various specialized regional and international satellite channels.
Al Balushi emphasised that the agreement reflects the Ominvest's dedication to promoting tourism in Oman, encouraging eco-tourism, supporting Omani small and medium enterprises, and raising awareness about preserving the Omani environment as part of Ominvest ESG strategy.
In a press statement, he commended the dedication of Omani companies to documenting the wildlife of the Sultanate of Oman, emphasizing Ominvest’s efforts in preserving and sustaining the environment, positioning it as a unique tourist attraction on the global tourism map, and promoting it on international satellite channels.
Maisa al Hooti expressed her gratitude to Ominvest for sponsoring this project. She stated that the support of leading Omani companies exemplifies the private sector's partnership in promoting tourism and exploring Oman's environmental diversity. The film, created by a team of international and local photographers, will facilitate the exchange of expertise and highlight the unique wildlife of the Empty Quarter desert.
