The Al Batinah North Governorate Office has announced the launch of the Summer Centers under the theme ‘Our Summer: Leadership and Creativity.’ This initiative aims to discover and develop children's skills, preparing them for future careers.

The programme will involve approximately 33 governmental, private, and civil society organisations, targeting around 35,000 individuals of all ages.

Supervised by the Office of the Governor and the General Directorate of Education in the region, the programme seeks to make productive use of the summer vacation by providing enriching activities for children and young people.

The summer centres aim to foster a positive and balanced personality in youth, creating a generation that is aware, productive, and equipped to creatively face the demands of the job market and entrepreneurship.

The 2024 Summer Centers logo features wavy lines in various colours, symbolising the six wilayats of Al Batinah North Governorate. The design highlights six themes: Social, sports, cultural, religious, economic, and recreational. The colours — yellow, orange, blue, and green — reflect the diversity and vibrancy of the activities offered, representing vitality, energy, and passion.

The wavy lines illustrate the continuous movement and variety of summer activities, showcasing the interaction among the different programmes.

This initiative is a result of a well-coordinated effort among 33 entities from the public and private sectors, as well as civil society, demonstrating fruitful collaboration in youth development.

The summer centres will offer diverse programmes over 30 days, supporting the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 and the labour market's requirements. This initiative aims to prepare a generation capable of facing future challenges with high skills.

With about 35,000 students expected to participate, this project underscores its significant impact on developing and nurturing Omani youth across various areas in the region.
