Oman participates in meeting of Under-Secretaries of Ministries of Finance of GCC countries

 
DOHA: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Finance, participated in the 71st meeting of the Committee of Undersecretaries of Ministries of Finance of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, which was held in Doha, Qatar. This meeting was in preparation for the 121st meeting of the Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee, scheduled to be held at the end of May.

The Sultanate of Oman was represented in the meeting by Abdullah bin Salem al Harthy, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Finance.

The meeting discussed several topics, including the outcomes of the meetings of the Committee of Governors of Central Banks of the GCC countries, the management of the GCC Customs Union Authority, and the Joint Gulf Market Committee. Additionally, it reviewed the outcomes of the meetings of the task force researching the initiatives of the G20 in the financial track.

The meeting also reviewed the latest updates on the status of the agreement on the payment linkage system between the GCC countries, the program for achieving economic unity among the GCC countries by 2025, and the follow-up on the latest studies and projects of the Office of Economic and Development Affairs. — ONA
