MUSCAT: The Middle East Leadership Academy (MELA), a prominent non-profit leadership development network, has announced the winners of this year’s Chairman’s Excellence Awards. The awards were presented at MELA’s annual Master Class held in King Abdullah Economic City, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Among the distinguished recipients is Mohammed al Tamami, Co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Mamun, a crowd financing platform supporting SMEs in Oman. Recognized for his innovative leadership and commitment to business growth, Mohammed exemplifies the caliber of leaders nurtured within the MELA network.

This year’s event also honoured Amer al Fadhil, Managing Director of Competence HR, and Ibtihal Bawazir of Petroleum Development Oman, both of whom have made significant contributions to their industries and communities. The rigorous 10-day Master Class serves as a collaborative platform for leaders to share insights, enhance skills, and expand their professional networks.

Dr Amer al Rawas, Board Member of the MELA, expressed his pride in the achievements of the awardees, “The recognition of our alumni reflects the robust impact and strength of our network. Our awardees drive significant change and innovation, demonstrating exceptional leadership while contributing positively to their communities. We are proud to support and celebrate such outstanding individuals who represent the best in professional and personal excellence.”

Established in 2010, MELA is part of a broader 47-nation global network including sister organizations such as the Central Eurasia Leadership Alliance (CELA), the South East Asia Leadership Academy (SEALA), and the Society of International Business Fellows (SIBF). Together, these organizations empower over 2,000 members across 47 countries, fostering business opportunities and personal development.

The event and the accolades were supported by key regional sponsors including Omantel, PDO, and Omran, who utilize MELA to develop and upskill talent, thereby driving positive organizational change.
