OETC completes second phase of IMS external surveillance audit

The second phase of external audit was conducted by the auditors of Société Générale de Surveillance 'SGS Oman'.
MUSCAT: As part of its commitment to enhancing performance quality, continuous development, and improvement in all areas and operations, the Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) recently successfully completed the second phase of External Surveillance Audit for the Integrated Management System (IMS). This certificate encompasses six different systems, including Quality Management, Environmental Management, Occupational Health and Safety Management, Asset Management, Business Continuity Management (Security and Resilience), and the Information Security Management Systems.
The second phase of external audit, conducted by the auditors of Société Générale de Surveillance 'SGS Oman”, covered Quality Management, Business Continuity Management, and Information Security Management systems.
These efforts aim to enhance efficiency and elevate performance across the OETC’s various operations. The company has obtained numerous quality certificates from the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO), and it is the first in Oman to receive the quality certificate for the Integrated Management System (IMS) for six integrated systems.
Samira Salim al Mughairi, Communication and Sustainability Manager, highlighted the significant efforts directed by OETC in various fields to ensure continuous development and growth, particularly regarding the quality of services provided by the company. She emphasised OETC’s commitment to applying the best international standards in electricity transmission, enhancing reliable and sustainable power supply to support all sectors and contribute to the developmental journey.
Al Mughairi added, 'There is no doubt that everyone across different sectors is in continuous competition to achieve the desired growth and elevate quality and productivity. This contributes to achieving developmental milestones and targets. At OETC, we believe in the necessity of adapting to developments in various sectors and the importance of interacting with others to gain more experiences, exchange knowledge and skills. Alongside our relentless efforts to achieve development and growth across various sectors throughout the Sultanate of Oman, in line with the highest global standards”.
Eng Fahad Nasser al Kiyumi, Acting General Manager of Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environment, emphasized OETC’s prioritisation of enhancing work quality. He highlighted the company’s firm belief in the necessity of periodic monitoring and auditing of the various systems and operations to achieve the highest global standards, reach highest performance levels, and ensure continuous improvement.
Al Kiyumi added, “We always focus on ensuring the quality of the outputs and work, as reflected in the OETC’s achievements, which translate the consistent efforts and vision of the company aiming to reach a world class smart transmission grid by 2030. Therefore, we work diligently and passionately to achieve the highest international standards in all areas to ensure business continuity according to the plans and aspirations”.
