SALALAH: The Directorate-General of Education in Dhofar Governorate successfully concluded its National Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Week, themed 'Prosperous Wealth and a Green Economy'.
Held at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment, the week-long event provided an engaging platform for over 5,000 students to explore interactive activities and workshops focused on sustainability, technology and innovation.
This year's edition emphasised the utilisation of modern technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, to promote a sustainable future and green economy practices, while also encouraging environmental risk reduction.
A visual presentation showcased the diverse scientific activities and training programmes conducted throughout the week, including workshops on simplifying electrical circuits, educational robotics and drone technology.
The closing ceremony, held under the auspices of Ali bin Muslim Ghawas, member of Majlis Ash'shura, saw the presentation of certificates to students and recognition of sponsors and contributors, including OQ Salalah, Nama Dhofar Services, Salalah Grand Mall, the General Directorate of Culture, Sports and Youth, and the United Media Group.
