Weather: Schools in Muscat to close from 12 pm today

Muscat: The Directorate-General of Education in Muscat said that classes in schools will end at 12 pm on Tuesday due to the prevailing weather conditions and forecast for heavy rains.

Evening classes have been also suspended in Muscat today and the decision applies to all public, private, and foreign schools in the governorate.

The Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation (MoHESRI) also suspended classes of all private higher education institutions and vocational colleges supervised by the Ministry in the governorates of North Al Batinah, Al Buraimi, and Al Dhahirah, for today as a precautionary measure.

Earlier on Monday, the Ministry of Education decided to suspend studies in all public, private, and foreign schools in three governorates of (North al Batinah - Al Buraimi -

Al Dhahirah), for today March 5.

Studies will resume on Wednesday, March 6.

The educational directorates in the rest of the governorates will follow developments in the weather situation and make the appropriate decision regarding their affiliated schools, according to an official statement.
