Muscat: Google has initiated a project to map the roads of the Sultanate of Oman using the Street View feature in collaboration with the National Survey Authority, the Ministry of Defense, and with support and supervision from the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology.

This initiative offers panoramic images of streets and major cities in the Sultanate of Oman, allowing users to virtually tour these streets and areas and explore them from a 360-degree angle.

The project, which will run until 2025, will be implemented in two phases. The first phase includes cities such as Muscat, Sohar, and Salalah, while the second phase will cover the remaining governorates.

The project aims to facilitate trip planning, visits, and exploration of tourist attractions and important locations for learning, entertainment, and insight without the need for physical travel.
