Geniuses of Science Forum held at Al Bayan School

Dr Madeeha al Shaibaniya, Minister of Education, at the second edition of Oman Geniuses Forum at Al Bayan School for Basic Education in Muscat
Muscat: Dr Madeeha al Shaibaniya, Minister of Education, inaugurated the second edition of Oman Geniuses Forum at Al Bayan School for Basic Education in the Muscat Governorate. The forum links digital technology, innovation in school classes, and reserve classes.
The Forum began with a poem recited by the student Muhammad bin Saif al Mana’i. After that, the programme of the forum was introduced via a digital screen showing one of Al Bayan’s students delivering the speech to the visitors of the forum, with a display of the locations of the forum’s activities.
After that, the Minister and the attendees visited the astronomy corner, which allows the experience of observing the sun with a telescope, viewing space, and the orbits of celestial bodies. Other exhibits a bee robot, a device for measuring the water level in the tank using basic electronic parts without programming and a path-following robot.
The forum also included a dedicated corner for a digital lesson, where one learn to produce a cartoon film related to the curriculum, design a special code for each film, and circulate it. The corner also displays a group of lessons that were produced in the school. Among the corners as well is the digital writer’s corner specialised in producing digital curriculum stories and displaying the stories that were produced in the corner, and the digital world corner in which the visitor sees various designs made by students, and a group of electronic games. The Lego Genius Corner at the forum is about developing 21st century skills, innovation, and higher-order thinking skills among students.
In its second edition, the Geniuses of Science Forum aims to achieve Oman Vision 2040, employ artificial intelligence in classroom situations, sponsor educational and digital projects, as well as develop innovation, creativity, and learning skills for the future in academic classes, and invest reserve quotas to achieve this.
