Oman is the honorary guest of next Cairo book fair

Oman's continuous keenness to participate in the Cairo International Book Fair translates the strength and strategy of the common relations between Egypt and Oman.
CAIRO: Khalifa bin Rashid al Shamsi, Minister Plenipotentiary and Deputy Head of Mission of Oman in Cairo, affirmed that Oman's selection as the honorary guest of the next edition of the Cairo International Book Fair confirms the strength and solidity of the common relations between the two sides at all levels, especially in the cultural field.
Al Shamsi, in statements to Al-Youm News Portal, said that Oman's continuous keenness to participate in the Cairo International Book Fair translates the strength and strategy of the common relations between Egypt and Oman under the wise leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
Al Shamsi mentioned that Oman participated in the fifty-fifth edition of the book fair with an official pavilion including the ministries of information, culture, sports and youth, awqaf and religious affairs to introduce Oman, its history, and civilisation in various fields, and to extend the existing communication bridges between the two peoples and the two sisterly countries over the years.
He said that Oman's participation in the Cairo International Book Fair comes as part of efforts to enhance the distinguished relations between Oman and the Arab Republic of Egypt in various fields. 'Oman participated in the fair with a unified pavilion featuring various publications in various fields of knowledge, aiming to introduce Omani literature and highlight the intellectual, literary, and historical aspects of Oman, and to facilitate the access of Omani books to researchers, thinkers, and all segments of society,' he said.
He pointed out that the Cairo International Book Fair is one of the most famous cultural exhibitions in the region and the Middle East, explaining that the importance of the Cairo International Book Fair historically stems from Egypt's importance regionally and globally, as it has witnessed continuous development through the programmes it offers to the public every year.
He indicated that one of the most prominent factors that enhance the importance of the Cairo International Book Fair is the density and strong interest it receives every day of the fair, as the Egyptian and Arab public are keen to participate positively.
