Sohar Industrial City receives 55 investment applications in 2023

Sohar Industrial City land area exceeds 461,000 square metres.
SUHAR: Sohar Industrial City, affiliated with the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), received about 55 investment applications in 2023, of which 45 projects were localised which will be built on areas exceeding 461,000 square metres.
Engineer Abdullah bin Ahmed al Mayasi, Director General of Sohar Industrial City, said during the year 2023, the plastic industries complex Ladayn was able to sign 5 agreements, bringing the volume of investment in it to about RO 22 million , with a total of 7 projects being built on areas of up to 80,000 square meters, and the number of workers is approximately 200 workers in the initial stage.
Al Mayasi confirmed that Madayn has made great strides in completing the city’s seventh phase development project. The completion rate reached 98.6 per cent. The project includes a 32-kilometre road network equipped with lighting poles, a drinking water network and a sewage network, in addition to a wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 2,000 cubic metres, a rain drainage network, a flood protection wall, and an irrigation network and two water supply tanks with a total capacity of 2,700 cubic metres.
The “Masar” service centre in Sohar Industrial City is an investment window with a unified system to facilitate and simplify the procedures for the investor to obtain all the necessary approvals, permits and licenses for his investment project in one station and a specific period of time. This is a result in an effort by Madayn to form a system of integrated services that the investor needs to create an attractive business environment for investments in Oman. — ONA
