Shura approves draft wildlife trade

MUSCAT: Majlis Ash’shura on Sunday approved the draft law on wildlife trade referred to the council by the government.
Majlis Ash’shura held its fourth ordinary meeting for this year under the chairmanship of Khalid bin Hilal al Maawali, Chairman in the presence of Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed al Nadabi, Secretary-General of Majlis Ash’shura.
Mansour bin Zahir al Hajri, Chairman and Rapporteur of the Health and Social Committee, reviewed the committee’s report on the draft law.
Dr Talal bin Said al Muharbi, Deputy Chairman and Rapporteur of the Legislative and Legal Committee, reviewed the committee’s views in terms of the legal wording of the draft law and the extent of its compatibility with the relevant laws and legislation in force.
