National discounts campaign unveiled to mark HM’s Accession Day

The month-long national discounts campaign kicks off on January 11.

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) held a press conference to unveil details of its 'National Campaign for Discounts and Promotional Offers in commemoration of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s Accession Day.
Shaikh Faisal bin Abdullah al Rawas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), presided over the media briefing. Discounts during the national campaign, scheduled to run from January 11 to February 11, 2024, must be of a minimum of 20 per cent, officials stressed
It was revealed that the national campaign carried out by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) in cooperation with the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Consumer Protection Authority is the first of its kind in the Sultanate of Oman.
Officials described the campaign as an initiative that seeks to foster collaboration between the public and private sectors to stimulate economic growth and enhance the overall trading environment in the Sultanate of Oman.
The comprehensive coverage of the campaign across all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman achieves another focal point, which is the development of the economy in these regions through the sustainable growth of private sector institutions in the governorates.
Mubarak bin Mohammed al Dohani, Director General of Commerce at the MoCIIP, mentioned that the ministry, through the national campaign, aims to enhance partnerships between the public and private sectors, contributing to providing more quality opportunities. It also encourages the participation of all institutions and entities in Oman's national celebrations, especially in the commercial sector.
Additionally, it aims to boost the movement of consumers, citizens, residents, and visitors in commercial establishments, providing successful marketing experiences for consumers.
He also emphasised that this campaign represents an opportunity for the retail sector, commercial centres, and stores to increase sales and attract a larger number of consumers through promotional offers and valuable prizes.
Commercial centres have completed all preparations for the start of the campaign, which will witness competition in presenting offers and discounts, he added.
