Oman participates in Cairo human rights meet

CAIRO: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by Oman Human Rights Commission (OHRC), on Wednesday took part in the 22nd session of the Arab Human Rights Committee (Charter Committee).
Held in Cairo, the session focused on the first periodic report of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
OHRC's participation in the session was aimed at reviewing the action undertaken by the Charter Committee, the mechanism of analysing periodic reports and procedures of responding to queries raised by the Charter Committee’s experts.
The issues were discussed in accordance with the rights and freedoms guaranteed by the Arab Charter for Human Rights.
The session’s tasks also included discussions on political, civil, economic, social and cultural rights and environmental issues. It also dealt with ways of combating human trafficking and providing a decent life for vulnerable segments. - ONA
