YOUNG RED PANDA CAPTIVATES

A red panda cub is pictured at the Lisbon Zoo, six months after its birth. With its dense fur, pointed ears, and white cheeks and eye contours, a young red panda has become the new attraction at the Lisbon Zoo, where it was born six months ago. The red panda (Ailurus fulgens) - also known as the lesser panda or ‘firefox’- is found in Asian forests, especially in Nepal or China, and belongs to ‘one of the most endangered species in the world’ with an estimated population of less than 10,000 individuals. — AFP
