MOE launches second edition of the Educational Excellence Award

Muscat - The Ministry of Education (MOE) on Monday announced the details of the second edition of the Educational Excellence Award, which will be every two academic years to outstanding Omani teachers in government schools.

Dr. Abdullah bin Khamis Ambusaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Education and Chairman of the Award’s Supervisory Committee, said that the first edition of the award witnessed participation from several Omani teachers, as it encouraged them to be creative and proficient.

The second version has been more advanced as the ministry was able to make improvements after studying the challenges and opportunities faced during the first edition.

Dr. Sulaiman bin Abdullah Al-Jamoudi, Director General of the Directorate General of Educational Supervision and member of the Supervisory Committee, said the aim of the

award is to motivate Omani teachers technically, encourage their efforts in developing educational work, and enhance their role in serving society.

The award also aims to stimulate the spirit of positive competition among teachers to innovate new teaching methods.

Each cycle of the award begins at the beginning of the academic year in the month of (September/October) and continues for two academic years.
