The Ministry of Education will organise a symposium on 'The Future of School Buildings' on Sunday, which coincides with the Urban October Conference that is implemented by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning under the slogan 'Urban Planning and Sustainability of Cities,' at Oman Convention and Exhibition Center.

Hamad al Rashidi, Advisor to the Minister of Education for Administrational Affairs and Chairman of the Main Committee of the Symposium, said: “Based on the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, and in line with continuous educational development that is compatible with national visions and global changes in the fields of education, comes the national trend towards developing the school buildings, which includes all the utilities, tools, and facilities implemented through the interactive educational situation, through which the educational goals and outcomes of the school curricula are achieved.”

“This forward-looking symposium on school buildings comes to keep pace with these ongoing developments and changes, and to anticipate the national future in the field of modern city planning, compatible with educational development and modernization in the Sultanate of Oman,' he added.

Al Rashidi stated that the symposium also comes to shed light on the future perspective of the school building and the future vision for its development, in partnership with various segments of the educational community, and specialists in this field, and to provide recommendations and comprehensive proposals for modernization and development in the field of the future school building, in line with ongoing national development trends.
