Private clinic referred to prosecution for fake medical cosmetics

Muscat: A private health institution has been referred to the Public Prosecution (PP) for providing counterfeit samples of medical cosmetics products, the Ministry of Health reported on Thursday.

The injectable products were found to be in violation to legal and official procedures adopted by the Directorate General of Pharmaceutical Affairs & Drug Control in the Sultanate.

The amounts were seized while the ministry was carrying out inspection campaigns to ensure the safety of products and health institutions' abidance by export and import legal procedures.

Meanwhile, the ministry has already fined a number of health centres and complexes for breaching health systems and preventive measures followed in the Sultanate of Oman.

Accordingly, the ministry advises the public to report any violation that may lead to an immediate threat to human health through the ministry’s contact channels.
