Duqm forum to review new trends in green industries

MUSCAT: HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, will preside over the opening of the first Duqm Economic Forum, to be held on Monday at the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZAD).

The forum aims to highlight the economic environment in the Sultanate of Oman in general and available investment opportunities in SEZAD in particular.

The two-day event reviews new trends in the green industries and renewable energy sector, as well as the most key projects attracted by SEZAD, as it is an industrial and investment centre and a gateway to international trade. The event also highlights the pivotal role of the economic zone in supporting the aspirations of Oman Vision 2040 and achieving the goals of zero carbon neutrality in the Sultanate of Oman by 2050.

The first edition of the forum will focus on the role of the economic zone in the transition to the uses of renewable energy and technology for production and export. It will also include discussion sessions to address various issues related to investment in green industries and the opportunities available to small and medium enterprises. - ONA
