Regional Cybersecurity Week 2023
ABU DHABI: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, is taking part in the Regional Cybersecurity Week 2023, organized by the Arab Regional Cybersecurity Centre (ITU) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) on October 9-12 and hosted by the UAE Cyber Security Council with the participation of 350 cybersecurity experts from 70 countries.
The Regional Cybersecurity Week is a global event in the cybersecurity industry. The eleventh edition seeks to exchange national expertise and raise awareness about the cybersecurity industry in a way that enhances the contribution and raises the productivity of the local and global cybersecurity-related economies.
The eleventh regional cybersecurity exercise for Arab countries and member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the national cybersecurity centres in the Arab region, was organized as part of the Regional Cybersecurity Week 2023.
The drill included simulations of multiple types of cyberattacks and application of a response mechanism for emergency cyber incidents starting with preparedness, detection, analysis, containment, recovery and post-incident actions. The exercise also included a set of technical and administrative activities to identify innovative solutions for combatting renewed cyber challenges and threats in accordance with the best international standards and practices. — ONA
