Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has advanced by 25 places in the Postal Development Index (2IPD) for the year 2023, ranking it sixth in the Arab world and 65th internationally.

As part of World Post Day celebrations, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) published the results of a survey to measure satisfaction with postal services in 2022, which was conducted on a sample of 7,225 postal users.

The results indicated that the overall satisfaction rate with postal services was 78 percent.

The survey also indicated that 75.8 percent of respondents used postal services and that 97 percent received postal packages for goods purchased locally or internationally, of which clothing, shoes, and accessories topped the list of most-received items by beneficiaries at 31%, followed by electronic devices (29 percent), and documents (10 percent).

TRA is working to review regulations to keep pace with the development of the sector, ensure a competitive environment, and achieve distinguished quality.
