Air Vice Marshal Khamis al Ghafri, Commander of the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO), honoured Wing Commander Majid al Maamari
Muscat: Air Vice Marshal Khamis Hammad al Ghafri, Commander of the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO), on Thursday honoured Wing Commander Majid Saif al Maamari in appreciation for his heroic role in successfully handling an adverse technical situation he faced while performing a training mission. By his composure, tact and prompt action, Wing Commander Al Maamari managed to keep flying towards the airstrip and land safely, saving the aircrew and the aircraft.
AVM Al Ghafri thanked the officer and commended his exceptional effort. He said his ability to carry out air safety procedures during such circumstances reflected the efficiency of RAFO’s capabilities and the success of its training programmes.
Held at Muaskar Al Murtafaa (MAM), the ceremony was attended by senior RAFO officers.
