Al Mouj Muscat Marathon returns to challenge athletes

MUSCAT: The Al Mouj Muscat Marathon 2024 returns over the weekend of January 26-27, 2024 where a field of over 12,000 runners of all ages and experience levels will #RunInspired and take the first step towards achieving their own personal goals.

Registration is now open in all five race categories with Early Bird rates available through the official website, www.muscatmarathon.om, until October.

Hosted by Al Mouj Muscat, Oman’s premier destination and title sponsor of the event, runners will have the opportunity to enjoy a healthy lifestyle surrounded by nature across each of the five race distances.

Al Mouj Muscat has been meticulously crafted to balance refined urban living with opportunities to enjoy a healthy lifestyle surrounded by nature, and each course showcases the exceptional outdoor environment of the destination. Al Mouj Muscat is committed to supporting a healthy and active lifestyle and along with the ocean and 6km of pristine beach, the destination offers tree lined walkways, beautifully landscaped parks and 1.5km of cycle trails where residents and visitors can embrace the great outdoors.



Choose from the full 42.2km marathon, 21.1km half marathon, 10km, and 5km runs, as well as three Kids’ Runs of 1km, 2km and 3km. To mark the occasion, everyone finishing a race will receive a tech t-shirt and a medal to celebrate their achievement.

The event has grown in popularity every year since it was first held in 2012 with 135 competitors and continues to grow into one of the most exciting races in the global marathon calendar. The last event set a new record when it attracted 12,290 registered athletes from 99 nations for the two-day festival of running.

The Al Mouj Muscat Marathon is certified by AIMS, the home of world running, and is aligned with World Athletics’ standards. This allows competitors to use the Al Mouj Muscat Marathon course to qualify for international marathons, including the World Marathon Majors in Boston, London, New York, Berlin, Chicago and Tokyo.
