Salalah forum to highlight modern technologies for occupational safety

 
SALALAH: The Ministry of Labour is organising the Gulf Forum for Occupational Safety and Health during August 27-28, in Salalah, under the auspices of His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki al Said, Governor of Dhofar. The forum, which will be held at the Millennium Hotel, will focus on the latest technologies in occupational safety and health, as well as ways to promote and disseminate a culture of safety in the workplace.

The event will convene specialists from the Arab Labour Organization, Gulf Cooperation Council nations, and Oman, fostering discussions on various subjects such as the impact of modern technologies on enhancing occupational safety, effective management of psychological and social workplace risks, the significance of fostering cooperation and partnerships to nurture a safety-oriented culture in society, and the latest advancements in standards and regulations within the domain of occupational safety and health. The forum will also feature working papers from local and international experts.

The forum is in line with the Ministry of Labour's efforts to promote a culture of safety in the workplace. Its primary objectives encompass sharing experiences within the occupational safety and health domain, fostering social dialogue and collaboration among the three production sectors to bolster occupational health and safety services, showcasing research papers by local and regional experts, including those from the Arab Labour Organization and the GCC nations, and increasing awareness about the significance of occupational safety and health among workers, employers, and policymakers.

The forum will encompass diverse activities including panel discussions focusing on contemporary occupational safety and health trends, interactive workshops dedicated to implementing workplace safety measures, exhibitions showcasing safety products and services, as well as a networking session facilitating idea exchange and mutual learning among participants.
