Real estate trading in Oman reaches RO 1.4 billion in H1 2023

MUSCAT: The total value of real estate trading in Oman during the first half of 2023 reached 1.402 billion compared to 1.179 billion during the same period in 2022.
Preliminary statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) indicated that the fees collected for all legal transactions amounted to RO 33.4 million, an increase of 10.3 per cent compared to the end of June 2022. The total value of sales contracts was RO 545.7 million for 32,907 contracts, with a decrease in value of 11.1 per cent and a decrease in the number of contracts by 8.5 per cent.
The value of mortgage contracts increased by 52.6 per cent, reaching RO 852.1 million for 12,062 contracts, while the number of exchange contracts was 732 with a value of RO 4.8 million.
The number of issued properties by the end of June 2023 was approximately 117,870, an increase of 1.3 per cent, while the number of properties issued to citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries was 633, an increase of 79.3 per cent. — ONA
