Oman chairs GCC Industrial Development Committee meeting

 
MUSCAT:The ninth meeting of the GCC Industrial Development Committee was held yesterday, in the presence of representatives of the GCC States and the GCC Secretariat-General. The Sultanate of Oman chaired the meeting.

The two-day meeting discussed a number of topics, including the completion of the revision of the GCC Uniform Industrial Regulation Act and the discussion of lists of goods subject to collective protection. Member states' experiences in the field of future factories were also discussed and the establishment of an electronic information platform on Gulf industrial projects was discussed.

The Industrial Development Committee promotes Gulf industries and products in order to support the Gulf economy and coordinate industrial activity among them, formulate policies and propose means to lead to the industrial transformation of member states on a complementary basis.
