Al Wusta Wildlife Reserve
Located in the yet to be fully explored city of Haima, this reserve is located right at the heart of Oman and covering 2824 sq km of protected area that has become the successful home and safe haven for Oman's treasured animals like the Arabian oryx, the Arabian gazelle, hares and ibexes.
In the middle of a spectacular desert escarpment, this reserve is home to a small herd of reintroduced oryx. It offers a rare chance to see this magnificent desert antelope up close as there is a large herd of over 600 animals in the reserve’s breeding centre.
The reserve, access to which is by 4WD with a prior permit only, is 50 km off the Haima-Duqm road on a graded track marked ‘Habab.’
Western Hajar Starlight Reserve
Renowned for its diverse natural wonders, Oman is one of the very few countries from around the world that endevours to protect the night sky. In the Governorate of Dakhiliyah, a celestial sanctuary beckons stargazers and astronomy enthusiasts from around the world.

Ras al Jinz Sea Turtle Reserve
Located in the easternmost region of Oman, near the towns of Ras Al Hadd and Ras Al Jinz, is a popular destination for nature lovers and travelers alike. The Sea Turtle Reserve encompasses several pristine beaches along the eastern coast.
This reserve is an important place because of the annual nesting ritual of sea turtles taking place in the area.
