1st Duqm Economic Forum to review prominent investment opportunities

 
DUQM: The Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZAD) will organize the first Duqm Economic Forum on October 16, 2023. The aim of the forum is to highlight the investment opportunities available in the zone, which is witnessing rapid economic and urban growth.

The organization of the forum comes within the efforts of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) and a number of other government agencies to attract more investments to SEZAD.

The forum will discuss many issues related to investment in SEZAD, most notably investment in green industries, renewable energy projects, and other industries.

The Forum, which will highlight the growth opportunities available to small and medium enterprises, is expected to witness the signing of a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding.

The Forum will allow investors to closely view the economic projects in SEZAD, learn about the investment opportunities available, and the possible areas of partnership.

Many major local and international companies are expected to participate in the Forum to showcase their capabilities, key projects and experiences in various economic sectors.

The SEZAD has recently emerged as a hub for renewable energy, green hydrogen and green iron projects. SEZAD currently includes a variety of investment projects with an investment volume of about RO 3.6 billion, most notably: Duqm Refinery, Ras Markaz Terminal, dry dock, integrated power and water station, and many projects in the industrial, tourism, commercial, real estate development, logistics , transportation and services sectors.

The Zone also has high quality infrastructure project such as Duqm Airport, Duqm Port, and a multi-purpose fishing port.
