Al Fayrouz presides over Russian tent pegging competition

India snatch championship title in Moscow

 
MUSCAT: Mohammed bin Issa al Fayrouz, head of The International Tent Pegging Federation (ITPF) , presided over the conclusion of international tent pegging championship in Moscow on Sunday.

Nine countries took part at tournament hosted by the the Russian Equestrian Federation including Syria, Pakistan, Kuwait, Qatar, India, Iran, Kazakhstan and Belarus.

The Indian team won the championship title on the first day of the competition in the team category, while Belarus claimed the second place. Kuwait came third.

The Russian, Afimov Vader snatched the individual title, while second and third places were won by India's Dinesh Kangram and Garsha Gorshin.

In the second day competitions, the Qatari team topped the team category followed by Kazakhstan and India. In the individual category, the first place was won by Setsk Ahar from Belarus, the second place was taken by Dolesh from Kazakhstan, and the third place went to Mohit Kumar from India.



The Omani referees Mansour bin Ali al Mahrouqi, Saif bin Salim al Khatri, Khalid bin Naseeb al Quraini, Ahmed bin Obaid al Jassasi and Abdullah bin Sulaiman al Balushi took part in the competition

At the end of the championship, Mohammed bin Issa al Fayrouz, President of the International Tent Pegging Federation, honoured the winners.

In the second day’s competitions, at the national level, Qatar won the first place, Kazakhstan came second, and India third. On the individual level, Setsk Ahar from Belarus won the first place, Dolesh from Kazakhstan came second, and Mohit Kumar from India finished third.

India topped the list with maximum points. The second place went to Belarus and Qatar finished third. At the individual level, India's Mohit Kumar won the first place and the second place was won by Dinesh Kangram of India. Third place went to Sistak Ahar from Belarus.

Al Fayrouz honoured the winners at the end of the championship. On the sidelines of the tournament, two training courses were held, one for referees and the second for coaches and referees from different countries of the world.

Oman Equestrian Federation will launch Dhofar Khareef activities at 4:00 pm on Friday, including flat, race endurance and tent pegging competitions.
