Indian regulator allows Go First to restart operations

India's Civil aviation regulator, DGCA, has approved Go First’s plan to restart operations with 15 aircraft and 114 daily flights, subject to the outcome of pending court cases and the availability of interim funding.

Go First will be the first airline that has gone through insolvency to again operate flights.

the acceptance is subject to the outcome of the writ petitions/ applications pending before the courts.

Go First suspended its flights on May 3 after filing an insolvency application with the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT). The carrier had squarely blamed engine maker Pratt & Whitney for its cash crunch, stating that about half of its 54 aircraft are grounded due to delays in the supply of engines by the US-based company.

Go First may resume scheduled flight operations on the availability of interim funding and approval of flights scheduled by the DGCA, the release said.

The airline added that due to operational reasons, all flights are cancelled until July 23.
